雖然人們長期以來將海洋生物作為重要的蛋白質來源，但目前大部分海洋資源已過度開發，本課程將介紹漁業科學的基本概念和漁業管理失敗的生態後果，深入了解海洋保護法律和政策，並導入臺灣的案例，了解臺灣如何轉型為負責任的海洋國家，實現海洋永續發展。

這門課程適合對環境保護特別是與海洋生態系統相關感興趣的個人。它適合相關學科的學生和專業人士，以了解與海洋生態系統相關的可持續實踐和政策。

學習者可以從課程中學習到 1.提升參與國家海洋事務和國際合作的能力。 2.了解國際法中的海洋保護領域。 3.了解臺灣如何制定法律和政策以實現海洋可永續發展。 4.研究國際法體系與臺灣國內法在海洋保護方面的動態關係。 5.了解一系列關於海洋人為變化的核心議題，包括化學污染、石油洩漏、塑料污染和營養輸入等。
